EarthBlocks & EarthZyme
Waste Materials Recycled into Blocks & Roads
One of the most serious problems facing the planet today is the overwhelming accumulation of waste materials. This rapidly increasing volume of dangerous levels of waste impacts critically on every country in the world in many negative ways. It is not only an urgent situation facing the earth itself but it is also threatening to mankind and is now an immediate problem that must be environmentally resolved. Cypher International Ltd. has the environmental solution to this enormous problem.
In 1998 a significant study was undertaken to assess the viability of solving this problem through the use of Cypher's uncomplicated EarthBlocks technology. Through the use of this new form of recycling, the waste materials in conjunction with EarthZyme can be converted from a high cost liability that must be disposed of at great expense to an end product of considerable value. The environmental challenge was fully satisfied through the use of Cypher's EarthBlocks technology and the major obstacle of overflowing and vastly limited landfills became an extremely positive byproduct of this valuable development. Cypher had already proven the success of this technology by using waste materials with EarthZyme in building roads. This is now the pinnacle of economic success. Costly waste materials become cash assets and landfills are saved from massive depletion and overuse. The objectives have been achieved and the solution is here now in the form of simple but proven technology.
This study irrevocably proved the physical and economic success of pressing EarthBlocks from a broad variety of waste materials found at city landfills. The materials used but not limited to, include biosolids, metal shavings, ground asphalt and tar, spent foundry sand, fly ash, incinerated contaminated soils, sludge, hydrocarbon waste and more. These waste materials were tested in combination with EarthZyme which is necessary to ensure the encapsulation of materials, stabilization, water resistance and molecular bonding that is the important element in this procedure and sometimes minor amounts of cement which hardens well but needlessly increases the cost. After compression by Cypher's EarthBlocks machine, lab compression testing determined whether or not the finished blocks would meet or exceed the 300 psi international code standard for compressed blocks that also adheres to the regulations in effect in the strictest environmental building jurisdictions that include the States of New Mexico and California. Test results on the blocks subjected to rigorous finite procedures after being cut into two pieces is illustrated below.

The EarthBlocks machine successfully pressed incinerated contaminated soil with screened clay based soils and EarthZyme and made EarthBlocks for building purposes without any additional material. The higher the clay content (minimum 20+ %) the more waste material can be consumed and this applies to all blocks. Construction with the EarthBlocks of waste materials may begin immediately or after air drying for a period of 28 days as is normal.

"GREAT ROADS" now can be made successfully using the composition of waste materials & clay based soils encapsulated in EarthZyme with proven results that are economical and long lasting.
Sludge obtained from Municipal waste facilities and clay based soils whether incinerated or not and treated with EarthZyme make an ideal block. It would be a great advantage to dry the sludge first before using the mixture to fabricate blocks. It must be noted that blocks made of this combination of sludge materials cannot be used for human habitat but is suitable for most other applications. Clay based soil whether incinerated or not and combined with cement may be used to construct a successful EarthBlock. It must be noted that although EarthZyme is always recommended, the use of cement will always raise the cost of EarthBlocks construction though cement's strength properties may be an advantage in certain circumstances. In other words, if cement is used then the strength increases but it it also significantly increases the cost. Clay based soil and EarthZyme combined with sludge, chemically contaminated soils, oil sands and other hydrocarbon wastes either liquid or dried in combination with foundry sand can be effectively used to build an EarthBlock but it is recommended that the materials be dried since the moisture content using EarthZyme (liquid) and other high moisture materials must be controlled. Spent foundry sand and all other solid wastes must be crushed and screened before using in EarthBlocks construction. Foundry sand, bottom ash and other such waste materials are good aggregates that can be incorporated well in most EarthBlocks procedures including roads. Biosolids are abundant globally and can be found in all waste facilities. Road building with EarthZyme and waste materials is also a proven application that has many varied uses throughout the world. In actual fact, the uses of this combination are endless. Whether utilizing Cypher's EarthBlocks machine to manufacture blocks or in building roads, it must always be standard policy to first and foremost conduct soil analysis tests. This must always be considered mandatory. The controlled waste materials mixture with clay and EarthZyme can be used simultaneously and the same mixture will provide superior roads and EarthBlocks in a parallel operation that significantly reduces overall costs. Clay based soils and EarthZyme used in combination with the waste contents of the world's many waste generators, landfills, sludge sites, industrial storage facilities and waste stockpiles can now be safely used to create positive useful environmental infrastructure developments of optimum value. If the correct ratio of materials and proper procedures are followed, this recycling process will solve problems that are both environmental and economic as well as humanitarian. Based on the findings of this test project and Cypher's experience in road building it is possible to use an extensive list of waste materials and it is Cypher's objective to use as many wastes as possible in the future. Cypher is conducting extensive research and development on this subject and the constant experimentation on the applications of Cypher's technologies will result in an expansive base of knowledge of the many current and future uses of waste materials that can be effectively recycled using EarthZyme and EarthBlocks machines. It is hoped that through the combination of our current and future developments using these two perfected systems that we will be able to continue to neutralize and encapsulate waste materials into valuable assets for any construction application. Cypher International Ltd. is known as the originator of the phrase "Environmental Infrastructure" and we strive daily to prove this point in practice not just theory. Now it has been accomplished once again with Cypher's waste materials recycling program and we are striving to continuously develop this environmental system even further through our constant research to recycle all waste materials found anywhere in the world and develop them into important components of the sustainable construction industry. Cypher is on the leading edge of these recycling technologies and they are attainable to all parts of the world right now.
R&RR&R no longer means rest and relaxation. It now means RECYCLING & ROADS. Due to new EarthZyme technologies the world can now turn expensive waste materials or liabilites into cash assets by building EarthZyme roads as well as other valuable infrastructure projects.
