Successful Dust Stop trials were recently conducted on a sand covered dusty road in Nevada, USA for an upcoming project that will be treating 7 miles with Dust Stop. Although 7 miles does not seem like a very large project, the customer will be saving thousands of dollars by switching from using water to Dust Stop for dust control. All chlorides, chemicals, oils and polymer products were ruled as unacceptable environmentally so water was formerly the only option. In previous years the customer had been using 1.2 million gallons of water in a 10-day period. This year they will cut their water usage back to only 269,552 gallons with the addition of Dust Stop. That is a decrease of 930,448 gallons of water. Considering the reduction in water they will be using, it will produce a huge cost savings in water alone, not to mention the savings in man hours, equipment rentals/usage and fuel charges. The massive amount of water that was required in the past was due to the hot, dry weather conditions and the fine soil types found in Nevada. Dust Stop has proven to be totally effective in these conditions while eliminating the need to use obscene amounts of expensive water that is now strictly regulated and in very short supply.
